Welcome to SISD's school Hollis Schools website!

It is currently undergoing migration, updates, adaptations and debugging so please don't hesitate to reach out with any issues you might experience so we can fix them and create a smooth, engaging and interactive experience. Staff Login and editing abilities will roll out incrementally and the creation of staff pages and department pages will be coming shortly as well as the retirement of legacy pages.

Principal's Message

Welcome to our school community!

In our unique Alaskan setting, education extends beyond the classroom—it is shaped by community, resilience, and a strong connection to the world around us. As a Pre-K–12 school with multi-age classrooms, we provide a supportive environment where students grow together, build relationships, and develop a true sense of belonging.

We are proud to offer a well-rounded experience that blends academic excellence with hands-on and outdoor learning. From programs like woodworking, welding, art, and journalism to activities such as kayaking and snowshoeing, students have opportunities to explore their interests and strengths in meaningful ways. At the same time, they challenge themselves through academic opportunities like Battle of the Books and spelling bees, building confidence and a love for learning.

Our school culture, as the home of the Wolverines, is rooted in kindness, teamwork, and shared success. Through school-wide gatherings, clubs, and athletic programs, students develop character, leadership, and pride in their community.

We are committed to preparing students for life beyond graduation. Through career exploration, college trips, and real-world experiences, students gain the skills and confidence needed for their future. We also support the whole child by ensuring students are nourished, supported, and surrounded by a dedicated team of educators, staff, and community partners.

Though we are small and rural, our vision is big. Together, we strive to equip every student with the knowledge, resilience, and respect needed to succeed in life.

Thank you for being part of our school community.

Happy Trails,

Principal Sheila
